Creative photography with light painting

The concept of light painting is really a creative photography. Camera helps us to record the trail of light against stationary object(s). A photo artist or his/her assistant may move a light source in front of a camera. The curves, structures, patterns are fully depends upon the photo artist’s creativity.

The light painting equipment are as follows:

A) A DSLR with very low shutter speed.

B) A sturdy and steady tripod.

C) A light source.

D) An electric cable release or remote trigger with a locking mechanism.

E) A lens hood to eliminate the other side light which directly falls into the lens.

A small beam of light, torch with small surface gives a unique painting against a stationery object.

Do not forget to open the shutter at the time of painting. Practice with various creative painting and light gives you an idea how long you have to open the shutter.

Last but not the least, you have to move frequently in front of the camera with light source. It helps to eliminate you for painting.

Another painting method is behind the camera. For example, you want to paint the edge of your laptop in a dark night. The trick is to take a narrow beam of light and turn light from one edge to another. I think you must open the camera’s shutter on that time.

Outstanding light painting needs more practice.
