Subho Bijoya 2021 to all the visitors, art lovers, dancers and photographers.

Bijoya dashami is observed at the last day of Durga puja occasion. It is the most celebrated festival of the Hindus in various parts of India. The festival is a five days long journey. First day is known as Maha-Sasthi. Hindu beliefs says that Goddess Durga came to her father’s home (the Earth) from her husband’s (Lord Shiva) place (Heaven). People from various states of India celebrates this auspicious puja with full of joy, happiness and respect.

Shri Shri Giridhari Mandir 2021

Dashami (5 days: Maha-Sasthi, Maha-Saptami, Maha-Astomi, Maha-Nabami and Dashami) is the last day of Maa Durga’s stay in the earth. She returns back to her husband’s home in Heaven. The idols of Goddess Durga are carrying by the people with a big procession toward the river Ganges. After the immersion of the Goddess Durga’s earthen idol, people greet one another and says subho Bijoya to you and your family. The youngers shows respect by touching the feet of elders and same age group cuddle (kolakuli) one another.

Photo Documentary

I make  a photo documentary of Goddess Durga’s earthen idol immersing in the river Ganges.

My daughter Biyas helps me a lot to make the video with the moments clicked by me.

Song has sung by Smt. Arkapriya Bandopadhyay. She is a renowned Rabindrasangeet singer.

I am really indebted to Shri Shri Radha Giridhari Mandir for the Goddess Durga Idol’s moments, Sandhyarati (evening prayer) and other organisers who came at Babughat, Kolkata for immersing the idols. I am very much thankful to Shri Snehasis Das for his video concept which helps me to make a photo documentary in FB and my site.
