Swastika Kala Kendra’s highly anticipated biannual dance programme took place at Madhusudan Manch, Kolkata, showcasing an array of mesmerizing dance performances presented more than 250 students. The primary objective of this event was to showcase the diverse concepts, choreography, and directions crafted by the different batches. A distinguished panel of judges was present to evaluate the participants’ performances, adding an element of competition to the event.

An exceptional highlight of the evening was the graceful solo dance performance by the principal, Smt. Aparna Chatterjee, who beautifully interpreted Rabindranath Tagore’s timeless song through her artistry.

Following the intense dance competition, the dancers enthralled the audience with a series of captivating short performances. Notably, the main spotlight was reserved for two spellbinding dance-dramas, “Ashoka” and “Chandalika,” both skillfully executed by Smt. Chatterjee’s senior disciples. The conceptualization, choreography, and direction across various genres were expertly guided by Smt. Chatterjee herself, showcasing her profound influence on the dancers’ creative expressions.

A noteworthy mention goes to Shri Uttiya Jana for his impeccable light projection, which elevated the performances to new heights, leaving the audience in awe. In the culmination of the event, all the dancers from Swastika Kala Kendra joined together for a heartwarming and unexpected surprise, the “Guru Vandana.” This heartfelt performance served as a fitting tribute to their revered mentor and added a profound sense of unity and respect among the participants.

The biannual dance programme at Madhusudan Manch, Kolkata was undoubtedly a resounding success, leaving the audiences enthralled and impressed by the exceptional talent and dedication of the performers. It showcased the beauty of dance as an art form and celebrated the creative brilliance fostered under the guidance of Smt. Aparna Chatterjee, making it a memorable evening for all. The senior students of Swastika Kala Kendra who took a pivotal role in back and front stage namely Sweta Naskar, Snehalata Bag, Moumita Maity, Suparna Naskar, Sanchita Raul, Diya Das, Riya Dhali, Soumitri Majumder, Anushree Mandal, Samadrita Mandal, Sutapa Mandal, Kaif Sk, Anutosh Bhattacharyya, Srija Guha, Baby Adhikary, Megha Chatterjee, Aranya Naru, Supriya Bhattacharyya and Saptarshi Bhattacharyya.
