Street Photography is capturing magical moments as well as rhythmic or repeated moment for me. In the Street photography certain quick changes happen. It is hard to capture and control the atmosphere but at the same time you will enjoy the capturing of a moment. Street photography is a documentation of daily life which will elaborate the time to the viewers of present and future. You have to shoot in natural light. You do not get time for artificial lighting, frames and convenience the subject to give the expression which you want exactly for your artistic work. So, it is a real challenge for the street photographers to frame a moment with an artistic look and feel.
Camera and accessories for street photography:
Choice is up to you for street photography because there is no as such rules to carry camera and accessories. you can Use Point & Shoot camera or Kit lens and its enough for street photography. Convention is 50mm with f/1.8 and go closer as much as you can.Reason Behind it in street is lots of chaos and handling the big equipment is troublesome. You can use short zoom also for blending candid in your artistic work.
What to Shoot ?
Everything you can shoot of a daily life. There are lots to shoot; so many frames but you have to choose which one will be a documentation with artistic look. The Street peoples avoid staged portraits .
Faceless People :
We know there are two areas in street. One is the total picture of a moment and other is street portrait. presently another area is very much popular namely faceless people. Here face in hider side or it behind the objects.
Street Games :
you can captures Street games like Indian’s famous Gully Cricket, football, street fun and so on.

DONT’s
- Please do not photograph women without their permission.
- Kindly avoid photographing beggars or their lives, as we aim to showcase positive moments and experiences, not poverty.
- If you capture a moment involving people on the street and they appear uncomfortable or object to being photographed, please delete the image immediately in their presence.
Do’s
- Be brave. Nobody is interested about your photography so, do not think what people think when you capture the moment. For example, in a busy street you just stand for quite some time, you can easily notice none are interested what actually you are doing.
- Take part in chaos and it helps you to get lovely pictures
- Enjoy clicking and be positive with a free mind.
